Simple Offline Business: does it exist?

A simple offline business is something that tons of people are looking for.  In fact, millions of people are looking for a business they can do from home weather it’s online or offline.

Although there is much glitz and hoopla when searching online for a business opportunity, most people are just looking for something they can actually do that works.  The simpler, the better.  Internet marketing is going through a phase right now where everything is about young gurus, buying into membertship sights and investing in training/coaching.

Don’t get me wrong, education is important. Having the right mindframe is crucial.  However, the way things are positioned, the focus is on everything except your primary business.  There are many confused people out there, BUT there are also alot of people brimming with knowledge and absolutely no idea how to implement any of it or put a plan in place for themselves.

Offline marketing  is once again emerging as a popular marketing method.  It’s always been there, but internet marketers are trying to incorporate it since it’s so duplicable.  HOWEVER, not all businesses and sales funnels are conducive to offline marketing.

The key is having congruency throughout the entire process for the prospect. From the marketing piece itself, to the capture page, to the sales page AND what it really takes to build the business.   If all of these pieces are in place, then offline marketing can be a cornerstone for a home business and duplication will be high.

A good simple offline business can be found.  If all of the parameters above are in check, then the business has promise.

Diamond Rewards: another revolving matrix?

Have you heard of Diamond Rewards yet?  You likely will before the 2009 year is up.

The internet has created a frenzied atmosphere that makes new marketers feel they are behind and that they need to make quick decisions and be in on the next “ground floor opportunity”.

With the recent success and momentum of TVI Express, Diamond Rewards is close behind.  TVI has a revolving matrix payplan and many folks have cycled which earns them $10,000.  Diamond Rewards promises the same speed in earnings and offers gems instead of a vacation as the product.

One of the things that tends to get overlooked in board matrix plans is the sheer number of people that it takes to actually cycle.  While it’s absolutely true that you only need to “find 2″ and help those 2 do the same……when have you ever heard of that running smoothly?  The drawback to revolving matrix structures is that it is highly common to be on a stalled board.  Additional work is required if you are not getting help filling a board; that is something the average marketer is not capable of.   The truth is, many more people never cycle and earn vs folks who do cycle.  It takes around 80-100 total to cycle through both boards.

I’m not saying Diamond Rewards is not a legitimate way to earn income online, but I am suggesting that more solid long term strategies and opportunities typically have far greater success.

Businesses that have the best success rates are typically very simple and are highly duplicatable.

Generic Marketing System Confusion

The nature of internet marketing involves change.  It seems that every month or sometimes every week there is a “new twist” or “new tool” or “new strategy” that is launching.  It can be tough to keep up.

One of the biggest shifts over the last year has been the promotion of generic marketing systems.  Generally speaking, generic marketing systems include some training and are “ready to go” marketing funnels with a built in funded proposals.  The idea is to advertise the generic marketing system to build your list.  Once a prospect is inside the funnel, they are exposed to the sales letter marketing the same system. For those who join, they are further exposed to various affiliate offers and finally…..your primary business.

There is not a right and wrong to using this type of marketing system, debates can be made for both sides. However, one trend I’ve noticed with these systems is the confusion new marketers have.  In addition to getting started and getting things set up, they are hit with training, webinar invitations, bombarded with emails, learning to do videos and getting involved in online communities…..the list goes on.  Point being, most new marketers using these systems seem to put less time into their primary business and lose focus on what they started to begin with. This especially goes for the non-techy type of new marketer.

Marketing, weather it be online or offline can be kept simple. It’s so easy to get involved in too many things at once and begin a cycle of confusion.

Many marketers using generic marketing systems are looking for simpler options.
