4 Questions That Must Be Answered for Effective Video Marketing
Video Marketing is an effective and free way to market any product, opportunity or business. As with any type of marketing, a targeted viewer or lead is always the best. Keywords, keyword phrases and relevant content in the description is just as important for video marketing as with any type of online marketing. Search engines work the same way with videos. Even with targeted viewers, there are still four basic personality types that all have different needs when it comes to successfully connecting to them.
The Sales Personality
This type accounts for 35% of the population. These are the persuaders and motivators. These folks want to know WHY. You must provide benefits to connect with them.
The Scholastic Personality
This type accounts for 18% of the population. This type is interested in objectives and outcomes. These folks want to know WHAT or WHAT FOR. You must provide rationale or a reason how your product or business is better, cheaper, faster, more effective versus an alternative to connect with them.
The Technical Personality
This type accounts for 25% of the population. This type is interested in the process and in operations. These folks want to know HOW. You must provide rationale as to how your product, opportunity or business will work preferably with examples in order to connect with them.
The Advocate Personality
This type accounts for 20% of the population. This type is creative and interested in the abstract view. These folks want to know WHAT IF. You must provide suggestions or ways to stretch outside to box in order to connect with them.
Making a video is easy, but strategy and content must be on point in order for your video to truly be effective. Once you have a quality video, then all you have to do is distribute it to as many places as possible to get instant views and likely search engine rankings for your targeted keywords.

That is very interesting. I did not know that the population divided up like that. So your message or product must hit all 4 in order to get a sale or just make sure you hit the audience you are intending to hit?

Interesting view on the types of personalities. I’m not sure that I agree there are only four but it could be. I have never really cared for people with the sales type personality.

Valmg- the 4 are general “buckets”. There are many variations for sure. Sometimes you see them referred to with colors vs titles (red, blue, yellow and green).

Hi Linda- this is really to better know how to address your audience and connect with them. Since you don’t know who you are talking to in a video, this allows you to make a connection with the greatest number of people:-)

In any marketing campaign, you have to know the motivators for your target audience. It doesn’t matter whether it is video, text, or graphics….

Video marketing *can* be effective–but I must say I am having trouble bringing to mind any that actually are.

Interesting theory on personalities, but I believe most people are a combination of those factors, rather than only fitting under one of them

I’m definitely a Technical personality. It drives my husband nuts sometimes, too, because I’m always trying to figure out how things work.

Is it possible to have a bit of each in you? I fall into every category but mainly the Scholastic.
I’d have no way of measuring what type of person would be viewing my videos though.

Oh brother! I think my videos (should I ever get around to doing everything I really want to do!) fit so many of these categories - at the same time LOL! Hmmmm… maybe “Part 1, Part 2, Part 3…” LOL!
