Traffic Generation: Best Ways To Drive Traffic To Your Website
Traffic generation is the key to success in any business. You must have ongoing traffic and people looking at your business in order to make sales and have new people join you in your business. There are many ways to drive traffic. Some are paid, some are free. There are offline and online methods. Most people starting a new home business do not have much experience if any in marketing. Therefore, it’s best to have a specific gameplan for new folks to follow so they can easily take action and make progress.
Online marketing is my focus. Online marketing changes regularly, so it’s important to stay on top of the trends and with what is most effective. Cutting edge technology can be inexpensive AND extremely effective. However, you have to know what you are doing and how the pieces fall into place in order to be successful utilizing them. I use a training platform that is geared towards the beginner and shows click by click on one’s computer exactly how to do each method. It’s best to have a few different types of marketing methods you are familiar with and focus on them to build a strong foundation- then build on it.
Here are the top 3 methods I use to drive targeted traffic for free to my websites:
1. Video Marketing. This method is easy to learn & implement. Video Marketing is free and is a great way to get immediate traffic. You must offer good content and have a quality video. Tube Mogul (free video submission service) or Traffic Geyser (monthly fee video submission service) can be used to upload your videos to mulitple locations with one click of a button. Training on targeting a niche, editing your video, how to offer quality content and video strategies should be offered by your mentor.
2. Article Marketing. This method is free and is effective. Articles position you as an authority figure on a particular topic. It takes some time to do a bit of research so you can knowledgeably write on a topic, but the time is worth it. Articles are posted via Article Submission services such as EzineArticles (there are many good ones) and are on the internet forever. So doing quality work that is well thought out one time will work for you forever.
3. Blogging. This method is inexpensive and very effective. A blog is a great “central point” to base your business. Blogs get the attention of search engines and spiders that help rank you for specific keywords or phrases. You can incorporate video, photos, articles and other secondary programs or income streams into your blog. There are entire communities of bloggers who help each other by visiting, commenting and helping create back links for each other. It’s fun and an effective method of advertising.
I choose these 3 as my top 3 methods because they fit together well. I enjoy writing so article marketing and blogging make sense for me. The bottom line is you want to find a handful of cutting edge free methods that help you create a web on the internet pointing back to you; you want to create an impactful presence on the internet so where people search, they can always find you.

Great post! I’ve never really got much traction with video marketing, so I would probably rank those 3 in reverse order; but I guess it depends on what sort of message you are promoting

That’s what we’re all after – more traffic, continuous traffic, targeted traffic – day in, day out. Articles are a must but so is posting to blogs and forums and on and on it goes until there’s not enough hours in the day to do everything we’re supposed to be doing…

I agree, videos are great and I really enjoy making them but boy – are they time-consuming!

These are 3 great ways. I have not been blogging long and traffic is flowing wonderfully. I did have trouble with one search engine though, and it was causing my page not to open in Internet Explorer. I guess you just have to be careful which search engines you use.

Ha! Snackhound,
That is a common reaction folks have. Remember, you can do slideshow videos or tutorial videos too, they don’t have to be you on camera. However, once you just do it a couple of times it’s surprising how comfortable it feels- it’s like talking one on one w/someone.
