Recession Proof Industries- Is There a Such Thing?

I wrote about this topic back in December when the economy was in it’s first few months of declining.  Since that time, there has been continued economic slowdown in addition to major calapses in the financial and automobile industries.  Recession proof industries are a hot topic as an increasing number of people are searching for alternatives as it relates to their future and building security.

I’d like to refer back to my post and respective links from early December here regarding recession proof industries.  Full details are in the post

Also, I”ve posted a video below on the topic

My husband and I are lucky to work in fairly recession-proof industries (healthcare and food), but my blogging and freelance work has definitely NOT be recession proof.

I was just thinking about this today. I wish our business was recession proof. It is getting scary.

It’s scary times. My husband’s retired. There is always a need working with developmentally disabled, but the state is always looking to cut hours. The pay for what you need to know and put-up with, is not very good. Not recession proof!

All kinds of problems with the economy lately cause us all to reconsider how we earn money, save it and invest it.

I was hoping that my new job would be recession-proof, and it probably is, but there’s been a little scare lately with the new law for contractors to be converted to government…

I think ‘recession-proof’ is a silly phrase. But there are still thing he have to buy, or will buy to cheer ourselves up (i.e. staple foods and romance fiction)

Vein, silly or not in how it sounds…it’s what people are looking for. Obviously the traditional job as we know it has less and less security as the years pass. Not sure about “buying something”…but someone who wants to be a business owner can “invest” in a different future
